This gets Twitter a big negative in my book. Tired of corporate landgrab lawsuits -- I hope James Eliason gets $10 Million... and after he does, I will use the word TWEET, TWEETER, TWEETING any way I want.
Aside from listening to birds "tweet", hearing people [mainly female] say
"Oops, sorry, I just tweeted" as an expression meaning
passing gas, cutting cheese, barking spiders, and other euphemisms for flatulence, and all the other linguistic uses of the word
TWEET only a moron at the USPTO would give a trademark for the word... but we all know that particular govt. agency is full of
twits who don't understand the meaning and implications of "prior use" and "public domain" as defined in their own agency's guidelines.
Tweeter Etc.,
(which became "Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, Inc."), and is now a bankrupt audio company, (SEDO has [
tweeter.com...] for sale).
Tweety Bird -- a Warner Bros. cartoon character -- obviously Warner should be suing Twitter for copyright infringement -- especially since they use the word "Tweet" and a little bird for a logo...
Tweet (born Charlene Keys, January 21, 1972), an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter.
T-37
Tweet - Cessna trainer aircraft
Little
Tweet ( [
littletweet.com...] ) - Parrotlet Breeders, (domain registered in 2004), and there are thousands of other websites and references having to do with "tweet".
...and lets not forget all the children with lisps who, on Halloween, are going
TWICK or TWEETING.
I can just see the headline:
BULLY TWITTER SUES TO TAKE CANDY FROM BABIES
