Link-page gets high PR

Why?

My site has recently received a significant boost in PR. Ofcourse, I am very happy about that. However, the one thing that strikes me, is that my links page has also received a high PR-value, along with the index. Why is this? I don't see any people linking to it and my internal linking strategy is not really such that my links-page is favored over other internal pages.

I am talking G, ofcourse.

Do you mean to say your link pages are having higher PR than rest of the pages (excluding index.html )

Yep. For one particular site this the case (indeed, excluding index)

I too have seen my link pages getting indexed first in search engines perhaps higher PR is the outcome of that...I suppose Google likes link pages because it the fundamental of hyperlink based search engines.
