I have several niche topics in mind for future websites. I'm just wondering what would be better and easier for placement; a site for Nationwide use or stick to a Regional site (maybe just within one state)or even smaller local site(just for one city or town)? I have one site now that is very niche, related to one industry for one city. I only get 30 to 50 visits per day after 9 months, but I've recently started adding more content. I have about 50+ pages of content and plan on adding more than 100 pages. I don't pay for any advertising and nor do I want to. I'm wondering if I'm too niche? I want to take this into consideration for my next site as I would like to earn money with adsense and I need more than 50 visitors per day. I'd like to have 500+ organic visits per day. I'm just wondering if I can compete on a nationwide level. My site is a Healthcare related website. I'm a Registered Nurse and so this is the easiest topic for me to create websites around.

I'm just worried about creating a 100 page site for Nationwide use and end up with a site that never gets seen. Are the search engines tougher on big nationwide sites than they are on local sites? Any advice would be apprecitated.
