Redirecting Dozens of Domains to 1 Specific Domain and the SE Effect

If I was to redirect 20+ domains to 1 specific domain, would the search engines kill my page rank and/or kill me?

Instead of simply forwarding the domains, would it be a better choice to develop content for these 20+ domains with links to that 1 specific domain? If so, in terms of search engines, is it OK to use the same content on all 20+ domains or should they all be unique?

Probably not a good idea to forward 20+ domains to a single domain or create 20+ nearly identical web sites.

As a general rule, I always try to keep my content unique on my main web sites no matter what. SEs are probably not going to include the same material over and over again in the index.
