http://www.example.com (example being one word)
The name being somewhat unique, the site immediately shoots up to the first page of a 300k results serps for queries on "company name" (two words). But its far from the top spot.
Question 1
If I buy the domain "company-name" (two words) and point it to the existing website via registrar forwarding, will it offer any SEO benefits and make the "example.com" (one word) site rank higher for queries on "company-name" (two words)?
Question 2
If I buy the domain "company-name" (two words) and point it to the existing website using a server 301 redirect, will it offer any SEO benefits and make the "example.com" (one word) site rank higher for queries on "company name .com" (two words)?
Assume that Iam using both "example.com" (one word) and "company-name .com" (two words) in all link building campaigns.
