My question is -- what is the SEO value of a link from a myspace profile to you? I'm hoping that people click on the images, come to my site, and then click on some ads. however, even if they don't, i'm thinking i'll get at least SOME seo juice from it.
What do you think?
One thing I'm getting tired of are sites coding their layouts so that you automatically redirect if you try to view someone's photos (and not the phishers, but just people trying to drive traffic to their site by making anything hyperlinked a link back to their site).
I have a service that lets people manipulate images. I also do image hosting, letting people post their image to myspace. My question is -- what is the SEO value of a link from a myspace profile to you? Hello, jmatthew3,
Typically MySpace links are not a great benefit to your, let's say, Page Rank but anyway, having some people come to your site will be working nice for you, I believe.
Cheers,
Frida
To sum up, value of MySpace is priceless.

Why do I want a myspace profile? Why, other than the "coolness" factor of being able to say I've got a myspace profile. I'm not interested in that, I'm only interested in visibility and traffic.
It has little to do with your company being considered cool, it's about visibility, branding and inbound links. The Myspace approach doesn't work for everyone, its effective for some businesses and services and not for others. I know business owners who watched their sales skyrocket because of Myspace, yet it has very little to do with links (and that's assuming you know the right way to get useful inbounds links on there, which I'm positive most people don't).
I'm not quite ready to divulge my better tricks of using Myspace to improve one's business, but I can assure you that it can make a huge difference in terms of sales or picking up new clients if you understand the angles of marketing on social websites. With the right product or service, and some lateral thinking when it comes to promotion, Myspace is an absolute goldmine.
