What can I learn about my site from site:www.example.com?

I've typed this in to Google, MSN and Yahoo...

I'm interested in what people think I might learn from typing in the "site:www.mydomain.com" command into each search engine.

So far I have learned the following about my site;

1. That Yahoo and MSN have a similar about of pages listed (2,600 and 3,100 respectively). Whilst Google lists about double that amount.

2. I have learned which pages each search engine considers most important, in order of listing (is that an accurate assesment?).

I'd really be fascinated to know what you experts could suggest that I look for in these results.

Many thanks.

I don't think you can really draw any serious conclusions, especially about the SEs idea of 'importance' at best it's 'relevance', but I'd not even assume that.

And the numbers are not reliable, either.

Much better to decide what you want to know, and find out how to get it, rather than get an info source and try to make sense of it ... "it doesn't work like that" ;)
