Duplicate Content Penalty?

Hello,
I'm working on a site that's got content, along with several ways to access the content (indexed by title, sortable various ways, list 10 per page, 20 per page, etc)

basically, google could see all the navigation as duplicate content.

1) should i be worried about this?
2) would using robots.txt to have google ignore all the navigation be useful?

If the pages are on different domains, then I would have some concerns (see this other current thread [webmasterworld.com]) but personally, on the same domain I would not worry.

If I was worried I would probably use something like a form image submit button or non-search engine followable JavaScript. At different times, links to /robots.txt excluded URLs have and haven't "sucked" PageRank from the site.
