Suddenly all of my hits from Google are coming from IP's that originate from Georgia (the country),66.249.72.133, 66.249.72.135, 66.249.72.141, 66.249.72.134, 66.249.72.128, what's going on? Has Google actually acquired servers in Georgia for economic or political reasons? Or is someone or something spoofing Google? It began at 2024-09-27 around 09:50, EST.

Why do you believe that the traffic is coming from Georgia? The IPs belong to Google:
OrgName: Google LLC
OrgId: GOGL
Address: 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway
City: Mountain View
StateProv: CA
PostalCode: 94043
Country: US

Some Google IPs are not Googlebot because they host also, but without seeing the UA, or defining the behavior that seems unusual, one can only guess.

"Why do you believe that the traffic is coming from Georgia?"
Because [ipaddress.com...] reports the following:
Reverse IP (PTR)crawl-66-249-72-133.googlebot.com
ASN15169 (GOOGLE)
ISPGooglebot
Connection TypeCorporate
LocationGeorgia
ContinentAsia

My hosting company server logs also reports the same:
2024-09-28
06:35:15
66.249.72.133
GET.......................... HTTP/1.1
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 6.0.1; Nexus 5X Build/MMB29P) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/129.0.6668.70 Mobile Safari/537.36 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html)
Georgia

Has Google actually acquired servers in Georgia
That's one explanation. Another of course is that the lookup site has got the hiccups.

Dunno about anyone else, but if I decided to locate my physical servers in some other part of the world, the Caucasus region would not be my first choice. Maybe Finland. Or northern Canada; they could use the money. But in that case, come to think of it, wouldn't some place like Nome do just as well?

Just checked and whatismyipaddress.com says State/Region:California, City:Mountain View, dnswatch.info says USA, so maybe your hiccup theory is correct.
