Hello all,

I have a client who is struggling to rank for local keywords. When I search business name -site:www.theirwebsite.com Google presents me with a local business with a similar name rather than their business.

Does anyone have any recommendations E-A-T wise to get Google to understand that when someone searches for my client's business name they mean my client's business not this competitor?

Welcome to the forums.
a) link build, link build and more link building. Get that domain name out there in anchortext.
b) transparency. When a google reviewer hits your site, you want them to find author names, profiles, and photos that are legit (that they can do 2 clicks and find that person on the socials).
c) look at the serps from different ip's. Sounds like you might be in europe, Some of the online services can really help with that. I bet you are surprised at what your site looks like from the outside.
d) stay vertical and go for niche niche niche. Spray-n-pray organic is a gamble, but verticality (be an expert at one thing) is still rewarding.
