I have been working on my on-page SEO and have had a pretty good level of success within my specific city. A query for "<snip>" should pull me up to #2 on google. Right under the giant <snip>. The issue seems to be that I'm lucky to break the first 100 listings on "<snip>". I know that Its a harder playing field, but it seems a bit strange to be that far off when almost all of my tags and such are formulated to target both regions. I'm wondering if it is because I have a registered address on my google business listing in one area. <snip>

I apologize, I guess I'm still learning proper etiquette on what and what not to post- so I'll do my best fill in some of the <snip> blanks as best i can without breaking policy.
<snip#1> [main suburb of larger urban city]-[specific service]
<snip #2> [services listing site]
<snip #3> [larger urban city]-[specific service]
<snip #4> if seeing my content directly would help, if acceptable to the forum rules, I would be happy to provide a URL

Again, my apologize to the moderators. It was never my intent to abuse the site, or anything of that nature, I can clearly see that I made broke many rules all at once hear and I'll do my best not to make these mistakes again!

Hello Curious Jon, and Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Don't let the course correction concern you too much. It has been a common issue due to a different set of Terms of Service here than on the other sites that were brought here in June. It happens, don't worry.

Unfortunately the actual URL would be one cause of editing. That Welcome link gives a good introduction for getting off to a good start here. Site reviews are only available in the (paid) Supporters forums: [webmasterworld.com...] Out here in the public forums we try to help with the general topics common to every site.

I have many years of experience, but none at all in geo-targeting so I'll leave that to those with experience. Just wanted to give you a good welcome. We are here to help each other do better. ;)
