Need Information on Back-Link

Brand company sell his xyz website which was already under lose.

Hi All,

A Brand company sold his xyz site to another company. After selling I see SERP drop for xyz site. I am unable to understand why is this drop.

1) Whether backlinks for xyz site is taken from the brand company.
2) Is there any reason for it.

Please, can someone answer this question?

One reason may be, if the new xyz site does not have the exact page URLs, the backlink juice accrued by the original site will be lost.

It may be because,

your keyword strategy is outdated.
Low-quality links.
Competitor - For the given keywords if any one of the companies website ranking improves, at least one other companies website ranking must go down.
