Link Indexing in Google - Moving A Blog From TypePad to WordPress

Will I lose credit of my previous backlinks?

Hi,

I am planning to move one of my blogs from TypePad to WordPress hosted on my own domain name. This blog is already indexed in Google and other Blog Directories and Bookmarking Sites etc.

TypePad uses domain mapping so blog was on my own domain name without typepad extension. The new blog on WordPress is going to be on the same domain name. Now the links format of each post in WordPress blog are going to be different.

So the question is;

(1) Is Google going to consider this WordPress blog a duplicate content website? If the answer is yes, what I should do to circumvent this problem.

(2) I had back links to posts in TypePad blog from Bookmarking sites and other blogs and websites etc. What will happen to those links. It seems to me I am going to lose credit of all those backlinks.

I would appreciate any word of advice on how to control the damage.

those requests for the old urls will presumably be sent to your server, so you can do whatever is appropriate with each url requested.
it won't be considered duplicate content if content at the old urls is no longer being served.
if the equivalent content no longer exists you should respond with a 404 Not Found or 410 Gone staus code.
if you have equivalent content at a new url you should respond with a 301 Moved Permanently status code and a Location: HTTP response header containing the new url.
ideally you should try to serve content at the old url, but using a 301 should retain most or all of your backlink credit.
