I am in the process of starting an e-commerce jewellery website, and I need to make a decision on the URL structure of the site:

People seach for jewellery by stone, colour, type, and collection mainly...

So here are my ideas:

http://www.example.com/amber/bracelets
http://www.example.com/red/bracelets
http://www.example.com/silver/bracelets
http://www.example.com/celtic/bracelets

or

http://www.example.com/gemstones/amber-bracelets
http://www.example.com/colours/red-bracelets
http://www.example.com/type/silver-bracelets
http://www.example.com/collection/celtic-bracelets

I would prefer to use the first example because they are shorter, but can anyone think of any issues that may arise by with using the file name (eg. 'bracelets') so many times, even though they are in different directories with differnet content?

At least the second option gives every page a unique name.

Also, which do you prefer, I can't decide...
