He's sick of problems with his host and as I have my own server, I suggested my hosting environment would be a much more stable platform for his website. I've got plenty of capacity and as he's a friend, I do it for free...

However, our sites are related. He links to my site and I link to his. I know this is a subject that's bee done to death but how would you suggest I approach this? Would a new IP for his site be sufficient to protect against a penalty on one, or both of the sites? There's certainly no intention to manipulate results and we always linked to eachother. The domain will remain in his name.
