I have many dynamically generated pages that do not exist until they are clicked. How will this effect link building and other SEO techniques?

People don't know if a page exists before they click on it anyway, so no affect on SEO or link building. Unless the page doesn't exist even after being clicked. :)

You should be fine. We've got tens of thousands of dynamically created pages and the bots find and index them just fine.
Good luck

When the bot or user requests the page its created. The fact that its dynamically created rather than being a flat file is irrelevant.

Think in terms of URLs rather than pages. The URL is available, therefore the page is available. If this weren't so, there would be millions of unhappy bloggers.
