minimum number of pages to make a sitemap helpful?

Let's say I've got a webpage that is just to get people to sign up for a newsletter. The entire domain is just that one page.

Now I know a sitemap is one of the most important factors that affects SERP position. So for a one-page site, all other things being equal, will including a sitemap.org compliant sitemap.xml improve my SERP position?

providing a sitemap will help search engines find urls to crawl on your site but it won't improve the position of any given url once it has been discovered.
