Hi. I just set up a new e-commerce site on Volusion. We just changed the DNS setting a couple of days ago to point to our domain.

I am now noticing that when I type www.mydomain.com into the browser bar, there is a redirect url that briefly appears in the browser bar ( [mydomain.com...]

Then once the page loads, this appears in the browser bar:
[mydomain.com...]

If you click back to the home page from anywhere in the site, it takes you to [mydomain.com....]

I spoke with someone at Volusion and they said that the redirect should not be an issue with SEO. I am skeptical of this and that is why I seeking advice.

All of my product and catalog pages have .htm extensions and I am confident they are search engine friendly. It is just this home page issue that has me very concerned.

It looks like two URLs can resolve to the same content, both with "200 OK" status.

That *is* Duplicate Content.

if Both the URLs are returning "200 OK" status and are crawled by Google then it will create duplicate page issue. You should redirect [mydomain.com...] to [mydomain.com...] using 301 permanent redirection protocol to resolve this duplicate page issue.
