I have set a site up to require registration and login before accessing the sites' content. I'm concerned with the search engines ability to crawl the site with this in place. I seem to remember there is a way to allow the spiders to still crawl the sites' pages but can't recall how to do it.

Could someone give me some direction with this as well as tell me if I risk negative impact to rankings by having the site up this way?
