Drop down box negative SEO?

Hello,

My website contains a lot of rich and unique content. Do make the page more accessible I want to use a "drop down box" to show the content. I got the code from birdbrain on this forum here: [webmasterworld.com...]

What I would like to know if this has any negative SEO consequences. For me Google is the only/most important searchengine because it has a 92% market share in my country.

In other words, is it safe to use a drop down box?

Donttake any chances use static links.

I agree with you about not to take chances. But isn't there some kind of "research" on this subject? It would really benefit the "completeness" of my page, but like you said, I dont want to take chances...

In the code of the page everything looks good though:

Not sure on reasearch but read books on Google and SEO and youll generally see it in one.

Joppiesaus, it's fine to use drop downs as long as the engines can "see" the links, so just don't do something screwy like hide the links inside of javascript. Tons of sites use drop downs, flyouts etc, with no ill effect at all.

The code above looks fine.

Hi Caveman, thanks. I dont use a link, all the content is always loaded in the code of the page, so Google should be able to read it. When unfolded the URL stays the same, so I think its just a visual trick that the searchengine doesnt know about?
