I want to set up a blog for my company website. I could host the blog on the same space as my main site, or I could get a service like blogger or typepad to host the blog on a seperate server.

I plan to use my own domain with the blog, but will the fact that my blog and main homepage are on seperate servers affect my SEO?

The domains are going to be the same, but would the search engine spiders detect the IPs of my my blog and homepage, see they are on seperate servers, and hurt me for it?

I could host it on the same server, but some of the blog services I like offer their own hosting.

Anyone ever deal with this?
