i have a working knowledge of web design, SEO, ad revenue etc., but am basically a complete newbie.

i am wondering if there is any practical way to make money from a prepopulated search page. i purchased a number of domains awhile back with the idea of trying to design pages and make some money off ad revenue.

this seems generally easier said than done, and also seems time consuming.

hence the prepopulated ideas as what might be an easier alternative.

thank in advance.

Made for advertising (MFA) sites do produce an income, but unless you do it on an industrial scale (as millions already do), you are unlikely to get rich on it. Most seem to just about cover their costs, while 'good' domain names that get type-in errors or 'similar site' errors may do a little better.

For example, someone mentioned an auction site on a newsgroup - but they put .com instead of .net (genuine error) - the site was MFA, so I left without clicking an ad; I'm sure a few visitors would have clicked an ad to escape.

If you have the time and interest, a Quality site will bring you much more satisfaction - and income - than a cr*p site :)
