URL Search Engine?

Is there a directory somewhere?

Hello All,

Does anyone know of a resource/tool/site/person/bot/dog that I could use to research specific keywords used within URL's?

For example, if I said "widget", I would be looking for a directory of websites that include that word in it. JUST URL's not content, or anything else.

Thanks!

Do you mean find registered domain names that include a keyword, or anywhere in the URL?

If you mean domain names, there are many such services available - often associated with registrars. Just do a search for phrases like "find domain names" "search domain names" "discover domains" and so on - you'll get some plain whois lookups too, but you'll also find other more complex services.

If you mean finding the keyword anywhere in the URL, then you can use Google's inurl: operator.

Thanks Tedster... The WhoIS databases provide a listing of everything purchased as a URL not a true website listing, and the inurl search doesn't provide just the domain, but also extentions like:

www.abc.com/index/file1.widget.jpg

I'm only looking for the true domain listing for widget (and everything associated).

Sort of an odd request but I cant seem to find anything that will help me here...
