Today the Managing Director walked into my office today an complained about the optimization done of our main page of the new site.
Im still sitting here (now at home) thinking #*$!, i know tbere are many other usefull "techniques" but ive always found keyword density to be be a usefull exersize and now i get the felling im not going to be able to use it "just because he thinks he knows best" very frustrating i can tell you.
i wonder how many people here would agree that its not very important?
KW density is a relatively insignificant piece of the puzzle.
You might find this a useful exercise: Evaluate the kw density of your homepage and a few subpages against comparable home and subpages at the top 10 ranked sites for any kw you care to rank for. Then see what conclusions you draw.
The way you use an array of keywords, including but not limited to the ones you most want a page to rank for, is far more important....both on and off page.
i guess i dont like having one hand tied behind my back especially with something i have had some good success with in the past.

Most of the best SEO's today barely look at kw density, if they do at all. Return on that effort is almost non-existent when compared to other things you might be thinking about and doing.
