cross linking between newbie

2 different sites same theme

need little help by forum expert. I have 2 new sites, 1st one is related to an activity which is having approx 1500 pages with rich & copyright cotent everywhere and indexed in all major engines. It is although 3 year old site but earlier it was having only few pages approx 20 Max. well optimized

2nd site is again new but well indexed in all major engines approx 1000 pages related to information about the activity. again content rich & copyrighted, well optimized.

Now i need to know what is the best time to cross link both the sites because i have made the 2nd one to promote the hotels from. But i am scared that if i go with early cross linking, i might lose one or both. Should i wait for PR to come..?

Help appreciated..

Crosslinking isn't an early / late issue.

It's a cross linking issue:
"1st one is related to worldwide hotel"
"i have made the 2nd one to promote the hotels from"

So why have two sites at all? If the above is correct, then you may be getting into all kinds of trouble - for no likely gain.

Or have i misunderstood?

Let me be more descriptive here..

I had made the first website which is totally commercial in nature selling seling and selling. [snip]

The second one is more of a guide site, and not commercial at all. I dont think to combine both the sites bcoz they are domain specific and different in nature but similar theme.

I am planning to generate the traffic from the guide and will divert it to the more commercial site.

I believe that Cross linking is the only option through we can get the high pr as i have seen almost sites high PR 6-7-8 sites are associated with the other similar sites with the similar page rank.

Might be i am on the wrong side here but still cross linking help so due to this reason i am willing to cross both of these sites.

I hope i am bit clear..

You'd be unwise to to have two sites over-dependent on each other, and excessive cross linking adds a significant risk.

You really need to SEO/promote each site as a separate issue. Cross linking is, in effect, just one link - while looking wider for each site would be much more useful - and less risky.

i see both of them. I am definitly promoting both the sites as individual property with the various seo techniques, but my point is will i get any major benifit if i link both of my sites by cross linking between sections and pages like that.

It wont be a link to the main page from the bottom but both the sites wud share the same databse and cross link the similar section automatically. So that here we will get the deep cross linking with not much external link from each page.

need your expert comment on this :-)
