Confused PageRank

I have noticed that there are a few pages out there with a fairly high page rank of 6 that directly links to a few internal pages that exhibits the following behavior:

Both pages being linked to have little text and about the same amount. Google search shows no outside incoming links to these pages. Yet one has a page rank of 4 and the other has none.

I see this over and over across different sites. Anyone have any ideas why this is the case?

I know the descriptions are a little vague as the content might reveal something. I might update links later.

Content has nothing to do with pagerank, only links effect pagerank. Google only shows a small sample of links to a page. Try Yahoo.

I checked both Yahoo and Google for links, and the answer is still inconclusive.

Unless Yahoo also hides some of it links I could not find a conclusive answer. I observed PR0, PR4 and even PR6 pages with no incoming links from outside sites showing up for Yahoo and Google. In addition, there is no signficant difference between number of internal linking.

Is there a way to find out what MSN/Live! search has for incoming links? "links:http://www.domain.com" does not work.
