New domain: 301 redirect or mini site?

301 redirect new domain to original site? Or create mini site with links?

Hi everyone,

I own a website, example.com(1), which is doing ok in search engines.

Today I bought example.com(2), which had expired. This domain name has significantly less incoming links.

My question is, as far as search engine marketing goes, am I better to 301 redirect example.com(2) to example.com(1), or am I better to create a mini site on example.com(2) and create some links to example.com(1)?

your best off just setting up a 301 to your old domain that is doing well in the serps

building a mini site wont really help too much unless you set it up under a different c class IP range, differeent whois, differeent everything basically so google sees it in a different neighborhood

work on getting links from established sites with a hugh trust rank to your first site
