Does Adding URL to Google effect

Hello everyone
I work for a company where one of my friend work as SEO and he told me to add URL to google freequently, but from Google webmaster site I have come across that Google Crawler sites automatically.. I am little bit confused what should I do!

Will anyone here please tell me what thing should I do on a daily basis that could help to impress all major search engines ,specially Google.

I wouldn't add any URLs to Google. It's best to let Google find your URL based on links to your site rather than using the Google "add url" feature.

If the only way you can get your URL in Google was through the Add URL page your page is never going to rank for anything anyhow. The links you need to get your site to rank will get you in Google.
