what is acceptable as a site update

I have a website that I am trying to get ranked etc The home page content stays the same during each upadate, however new relevant content is added to the page quite regular. What do you recon google will make of this? Would it be the equiv to starting from scratch everytime I do this. Also, when you make SEO changes and uploiad relevant content...how soon does this effect your search engine position?

You are going into the alchemy of SEO details...if you wonder how often your site is indexed, look into the cache of google - with my sites, it's approximately once every 10 days.

I would not worry about uploading the frontpage too often - with young pages, concentrate on content and links and forget about the details for a while.
