I have a 7 year 'authority site' that ranks well for dozens of terms. I have many links to interior pages on my homepage that rank at the top of G.

My question; as I launch new content pages and insert links on the homepage, is it okay to now remove the links to existing, high ranking interior pages, since google has given those pages high rank?

My fear is if I remove them, I will lose that ranking for that interior page. Is this true?

I am getting to the point of having WAY TOO MANY links on my homepage, but don't know what I should do next.
