I have a client that implemented a workaround for their flash site. The workaround has them putting the majority of their content in a <noscript> tag which seems great however the site is for a media company and the content is littered with exclamation points! After almost every sentence! Seems a bit excessive!

Ok so those exclamation marks are to drive home the point. I believe there are almost 30!s on one page.

At what point, if at all, would this be seen as spam. I am proud of the work their workaround, and am apprehensive to suggest changing this if it will not be a big deal to the engines AND more importantly not be considered spam.

The SE's don't incorporate assessment of punctuation marks into their algo's, so far as I know. :p

What I might suggest though, is that you show your appreciation for your clients by buying them a modest but useful gift: Strunk & White's "The Elements of Style". It is perhaps the single most useful and elegant grammer book ever written. It's short too!
