Generally, a page title is a key part of descriptive use with a search engine, however, as with any title, don't over-optimize it.

If this is the case I have a serious SEO problem. I have long pdf files with pictures which are not easily converted into HTML pages.

However I am not sure header is invisible. I think they index the header.
