I am going to optimize a site, but I am in great dilemma as how to start and hiow to proceed with SEO of the site. The main thing which is worying me is that site home page doesn't contains javascript code only which is to track the cookie. this code is used to show login page for existing users and signup page for new users. Both the pages are different (sign up and login it uses the concept of url rewriting I think)

SO I'd be able to do onpage optimisation on the signup page, whats bothering me is how should I take on offpage optimisation of the site, coz landing page is home page ie index page....

Please suggest me how to carry on off page optimisatio ie link building etc.. should I carry link exchange for home page or the registeration page.......
