Hi,

I've got now 1 site seperated in 2 domains (1 Belgium .be, 1 The Netherlands .nl, it's the same language...)

Now I would want to make of the 2 sites, 1 site on a new domain name (.net)).

Is this a good step for google? All the thousands of content pages will come together on 1 new domain.

It would be much better to go for the .com

And there is a down side to this;

Currently, your country suffixes help you in Google's country searches; .net/.com will not.

If you are hosted in one country or the other, then you'll be OK for that country - but not for the country where you have no host and no suffix.

So think carefully about where your key audience(s) are/is before making any firm decisions.

But if you are going 'international' - go for .com. Every time.
