It depends on what you have in mind. Building an RSS generator from scratch seems a bit like reinventing the wheel. Many blog/portal/CMS packages will already do that for you. It's a function of the software. If your site is database generated then you could do something like this by outputting the content into an RSS template.

I think what I need is an RSS generator--I just didn't know the right term for it--that will capture new content automatically instead of my having to do it. I have a site where we add as many as ten new items a day. I'd like to get recommendations of specific software that is simple enough for a novice to use.

What powers your site? Is it a CMS, or do you do everything by hand? Like I said there are a number of content management packages out there that could easily be incorporated into a site...
