RSS Feeds included in Sitemaps

I recently added RSS feed for newly published stuff on my site and I'm wondering if I need to include this file (xml) in my Google sitemap.

I know this is probably fundamental, but I've been told that I put the 'mental' in fundamental.

Thanks for anyone's insight. (This forum has been a blessing and quite the knowledge base!)

Using an RSS / Atom feed as a Sitemap [google.com]

Google accepts RSS (Real Simple Syndication) 2.0 and Atom 1.0 feeds. If you have a blog with an RSS or Atom feed, you submit the feed's URL as a Sitemap. Most blog software creates your feed for you. If your site doesn't have a feed, you can use Feedburner to create and publish one. Note that the feed may only provide information on recent URLs.
Note: If you use Blogger to create and publish your blog, Blogger automatically submits a Sitemap for you.

Doesn't make that much difference these days. Content is content. A blog is just another way of adding content.

The page I linked to says you can link to an RSS feed as a sitemap.
