Syndicate Directory Content via RSS?

Hi, I work for a site that is a large vertical directory. Someone has been trying to push the idea of syndicating the majority of our content via rss. This doesn't sound like a good idea to me, and wonder what kind of problems we could run into with this. It's a fairly large site and this is the bulk of our content. Would their be dupe content issues with scraper sites, etc? Could their be any benefit to the whole thing?

You would seriously want to ask why you would be doing this. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it would be worthwhile.

Would your audience find value in reading a feed that showed new entries to your directory?

Providing a full feed of your site can make it a lot easier for the scrapers to access your content. However, if there's a real need for the data to be out there then you'll need to look at ways of limiting what you put out.
