Hi all,

I have two questions:

1. I'm using the trial version of feedforall, it will expire soon and I will edit my own RSS feeds manually, editing the original xml file. how valid is that?

2. When I update the feed it doesnt show the updates except after few hours! even If i removed the xml file from the server it's still there.. how to fast update the feed?

Editing by hand doesn't invalidate anything. I often edit feeds in a text editor. To make sure there are no problems just run the feed through a FEED validator [feedvalidator.org].

how to fast update the feed?

As soon as the feed is uploaded to the server it's updated. The services that read your feed are another matter. You need to ping [google.com] the various services to tell them to get your new feed. Otherwise they will default to their own schedules.

do we still need to use the guid and the publish date?

cuz once i did using the trial version of feedforall, i got instant update in the server. and when I'm not, it takes 5 hours to update on my own server.

I include them both in my feeds because the feed validators will complain if I don't.

well how do you generate the guid manually?

Add the tag:

<guid></guid>

with the appropriate link in it.
