RSS global submission software

Are these programs good or bad?

I've seen some desktop software that claims to submit/publish your RSS feeds to 50+ sites. It seems like a good idea and much easier to do than to submit individually. Could anyone shed some light on the pro's and con's of using software like this or maybe suggest an alternate way to do this?

RSS, ATOM, WIKI, WIDGETS, BLOGS......its the internets version of "communication survival of the fittest". Many of these things act similar asome are good to look at and some good for the site all are useful. In the end there are way too many variants and competeing technologies, some of them are just going to die. I can see how a forum is inherently different from a blog...get the point?

Are you talking about pinging services? You can cover most all of the major RSS services for free using your blog package. Free services like Ping-O-Matic will do pretty much the same thing.

This whole 'submit/publish your RSS feeds to 50+ sites' sounds like the old SEO search engine submission services. Most of it can be had for free. Don't let the numbers impress you. There are only a few influential/worthwhile services out there.
