Is it possible to no-index and follow (I think that is best) supplemental pages (ie page 2 onwards) for certain (or any) categories - some of these URLs are in Woocommerce (if that matters).

What code do I need to add to the Robots.txt?

You would not need any change to the robots.txt file, the meta data can be included per page or per directory - but the how-to varies depending on your setup.

Woocommerce is commonly used as a plugin within WordPress so I am guessing that is your situation. If it is in WP, you can edit the metadata per page or select categories if you're also using YoastSEO.

Thanks not2easy - Would you suggest "no-indexing, follow" on Page2 onwards for pages whether in posts or woocommerce? Or just leave as index and follow... there are 'dozens' of such pages.

I'd suggest "noindex" because "follow" is default behavior. You can use the edit function for any pages included in your list and edit the default meta-data, found below the pages' text-edit box.

Thanks - I need to have a think (search) to see how to do this - as the main (ie first/front) category page is indexed and ranking with traffic - it is the additional pages that are the issue - ie from p2 onwards...
