I wrote Pinterest and asked them this question, as their AUP instructed me to do if I had any questions, but their response was that they are a small company and therefore would not be answering my email. Charming!
I've also tried to Google the topic, and found random people saying it's not against the AUP. But I trust you guys more, and am hoping one of you has an actual answer from an actual source, or understands the AUP better than I do. Does anyone know if Wordpress autoplugins, which publish a pin to Pinterest whenever a post goes live, count as an "auto script" that's not allowed per their AUP? Specifically, this section:
Attempt to access or search the Services, User Content or Pinterest Content or scrape or download User Content or Pinterest Content from the Services, or otherwise use, upload content to, or create new links, reposts, or referrals in the Service through the use of any engine, software, tool, agent, device or mechanism (including automated scripts, spiders, robots, crawlers, data mining tools or the like) other than the software and/or search agents provided by Pinterest or other generally available third party web browsers;
To me, this sounds like spamming. I simply want to automate the process of "pinning" the articles to save myself some time, which I don't consider spamming. Thoughts?
