running imagemagick from the command line

Wondering if this is possible.

client has laoded 8000 images, all with massive white space to uplaods folder and sub folders
i need to trim them.
its a wordpress site.

had hoped to find a plugin, but seems i need to run a command.

Possible? From command line?

its a one shot deal, just need to run it once.

oh, you could go that route. I have used Image Magick a bit (some code buried here in fact) and it is certainly possible to do what you want. I'd probably go the route of a perl script driver to do that instead of driving it from the command line.

Another easier way I think, would be to fire up a image program like PaintShopPro under windows and use the 'batch command' to trim all the photos.

you can certainly do this with ImgeMagick - Cutting and Bordering -- IM v6 Examples:

as well as probably GIMP...

on windows you could do batch/bulk cropping with IrfanView.
