Hi all,

Im setting up dada mail on a website im doing for a cinema so people can sign up for special movie deals etc.

I have followed the instructions to set up dada mail and uploaded it and everything properly.
I even took it all down again and uploaded in ASCII cause i got to ahead of myself and didnt realise i needed to upload it in ASCII.

My problem atm is when i go to www.myurl.com.au/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi to finish off the installation as it says to and set up the mailing lists i get this:

HTTP Error 404

404 Not Found

The Web server cannot find the file or script you asked for. Please check the URL to ensure that the path is correct.

Please contact the server's administrator if this problem persists.

I set everything up perfectly followed the instructions to the letter. Could this be a problem with my cgi-bin because all the files are there?

Anyone that can help on this would be greatly appreaciated

I am not familiar with the program you are refering to however the first step would be to check to see if your host supports cgi. Next, ftp to www.myurl.com.au/cgi-bin/dada/ and check to see if mail.cgi actually exists. Also check that it is executable in the file permissions (775 from memory). Baring that, one of the files could have been corrupted, try getting a fresh copy of the entire program from the vendor and upload that.

If all of the above does not solve your problem, ask your host if there is a problem with their servers configuration and if not then contact the program vendor for a program fix.

Vendors are not infalable, I have had to fix programs myself in the past. If a vendor program fix is not possible, post the code in mail.cgi here for further assistance.

The error message is pretty clear: File not found. It sounds like you didn't really install the mail.cgi in the place you're trying to load it from in your browser. Check your server and make sure the path matches the url.
