When I look at that, I realize just how much of a profile that creates. Someone using that data with ill intent would have way too much info on me.

I wonder if insurance companies will start using that data to see if you are a habitual sppeder. .. or if ObamaCare will use it to see if you frequent bars instead of health clubs.

Forget gun registration. all they need to do is see if you spent any time at a local gun store or range.

the list goes on.

Back to engine's original point. If you use google latitude, run it for a month or so. Then go to latitude and look at 'view location history'. Go through that day by day... You'll want to join the Amish and throw all your electronics in the trash.

I know I keep on about this, but, companies have become obsessed with tracking every user detail.

There will be a backlash, i'm sure, but it's taking too long for people to realise.

Control really needs to come back into the hands of the user, imho.

Phones aren't any different -- In my experience, what with web dev and social networking and all, people, in general, don't care .. They aren't at all concerned .. They just want the product/service.

Things like phones, internet, and even cars are sort of funny in that regard .. never mind how it all works .. just as long as it looks good, does what's expected, and the cost is on the ground ..
