Smartphone emulator I can install on my server?

I've seen a few smartphone emulators out on the web. If you've developed a website optimized for mobile devices, you can run it through these website's app to see what your site will look like when viewed on a smartphone.

What I'd like to know is... Is there such an application that can be installed on my own server? I'm trying to get away from asking my customers to go to this 3rd party website that has a 4-column layout with advertising all over the place and enter a url to see my work.

I'd much rather give them something like www.mydomain.com/simulator/theirwebsite.html

Does something like this exist?

Are you looking for them to see what the mobile site looks like on multiple platforms (Android, iOS, Windows), or do you just want them to see what the site looks like on their phone?

It doesn't have to be complicated. I'm not looking for something that can handle every flavor of handheld device. But I want to do something like...
"Here's what your current website looks like on a smartphone. Notice how that fancy flash display doesn't even appear. Now look at how your site WILL look like once you have me redesign it!"

What we do is create a "staging server" where we post the mobile site in a directory.

Tell the client to go look at his desktop website on his smartphone. (email the link if you like to make it easier).

In the same email, give the url of the mobile site created above to the client and ask them to look at the site on their smartphone.

Easy and effective.

That's making the huge assumption that he has a smartphone. In my neck of the woods, everyone has a cell phone, but few have smartphones.

Do a search for "browser testing tool" and see if there is anything there that may work for you.

Opera has a good mobile emulator but all emulators today suck.
