According to new figures released from analyst firm IDC, Android shipments reached 136 million units in Q3 2012, which accounts for 75% of the 181.1 million shipments during the quarter. Or, as IDC puts it, “the Android operating system was found on three out of every four smartphones shipped during the third quarter of 2012.”

Android has come from behind and dominated the market.

If I were going to write a smart phone app I certainly would start with Android based on these numbers alone.

This is all Apples fault being overpriced and locked into AT&T for all those years which is exactly why I ended up with Android because I sure as heck didn't want to go back to AT&T at the time.
