I'm intrigued.
Assuming the hardware is competitive, I was thinking of giving the O/S a try when it launches.

Nokia has a plan in its back pocket should a deal with Microsoft fall through, or the forthcoming Windows Phone 8 software update fail to generate interest, according to Nokia's board chairman.

Speaking on his debut television appearance, F-Secure's founder and former chief executive Risto Siilasmaa, who became Nokia's board chairman in May, defended the move to Microsoft's Windows Phone, which replaced the ailing Symbian operating system last year.

But he said Nokia has a "contingency plan" should the forthcoming Windows Phone 8 "fail to live up to expectations," according to a report by Finnish newspaper Yle Uutiset.

Or maybe the new Mozilla OS.

Yeah, I agree, Android. Mozilla may just be too late.

If that were the case Nokia loses it's differentiating factors. They'd need to be making leading edge smartphones as also-rans wont be good enough.
People want Samsung hardware as it's leading edge, people want Apple hardware because it's cool. I wonder how many really think make a choice about the OS?

Nokia is *really* good at building handsets. I wouldn't count them out.

It seemed to take forever for Nokia to come out with the Lumia 900. By the time they did Microsoft had already moved on to the development of Windows Phone 8. Nokia may be good, but are they too far behind the curve?

All this reminds me off when "google" was the cute little tiger shredding the reps of the older order, yahoo, alta vista, dmoz(tongue in cheek) :)

Then it was Go Google, please rip the competion to shreds

I sincerely hope Nokia ,Samsung, Sony Ericsson find a way to compete effectively with Apple cos it seems we're increasingly headed to a world economy made up of a few titans per sector
