Andy Rubin is the commanding general of that Android army. Currently vice president of engineering at Google, Rubin founded Android before it was acquired by Google. He also helped invent the Sidekick. He has both the mile-high view and the deep technical background to direct the Android platform to success.
I had a chance to quiz Rubin this week on some hot-button Android issues, including the number of Android versions available, whether carriers can ruin phones, the upcoming Android 3.0 and whether he thinks Windows Phone 7 is a threat.
