“Microsoft has made the decision to focus on the Windows Phone 7 launch and will not ship KIN in Europe this fall as planned. Additionally, we are integrating our KIN team with the Windows Phone 7 team, incorporating valuable ideas and technologies from KIN into future Windows Phone releases. We will continue to work with Verizon in the U.S. to sell current KIN phones.”

For a while it looked as if Microsoft where looking to make an entry into the devices market, but they just didn't market enough. The phones did seam to be pretty decent, but the demographic they where aiming at wasn't one that could spend spend.

If they had been able to bring out a device that went head to head with the Nexus one then they might have had something people would want to buy.
