Apple today announced that iPad sales have topped two million in less than 60 days since its launch on April 3. Apple began shipping iPad in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK this past weekend. iPad will be available in nine more countries in July and additional countries later this year.
RBC Capital Markets has estimated iPad's total shipments to reach 8.13 million units worldwide by the end of the year -- which would translate into at least $4 billion of revenue.
How many units are in the hands of the education deprived in other countries who could get a WHOLE lot more use out of them?
In April the BBC News website had "Apple reveals new iPhone features" as their no.2 story in the headlines, because obviously some new software for a phone is more important than 99% of the other news that day..
